On July 25th 2009 a brave team of 6 completed the demanding Three Peaks Challenge in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust. The challenge involved climbing the three highest mountains in the UK, Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike, within a 24 hour period.
Prior to the event the team, which comprised of members from both The Car Shop and Super Schools, undertook a vigorous and extensive training regime to ensure they were prepared for the scaling of the Three Peaks.
During the challenge the team embraced the difficult terrain and braved the challenging weather to successfully complete the extreme mission within the allocated time. Amazingly they also managed to raise well over their target of £5000 for the Anthony Nolan Trust.
The Anthony Nolan Trust connects people whose immune system needs a boost with other people who are prepared to share a little of theirs, matching patients with donors. Furthermore, the trust also funds research to find out how they can make transplants more successful - which makes a huge difference to those affected by leukaemia. Both The Car Shop and Super Schools fully support the excellent work of The Anthony Nolan Trust and tremendously proud of the amount they raised.
We would like to send our congratulations to the entire team for all of their hard work and determination in completing the difficult feat – Well Done!
