Audi TT Review
Without doubt the Audi TT is one of the most iconic cars of the last 20 years. If you want a great looking car that delivers an utterly exhilarating drive, it's well worth consideration.
Forget it if you need a vehicle with room to ferry your two six foot sons around. But if it’s just you and your partner, or maybe even a couple of little ones, the TT could be perfect. There are two models, a 2litre turbocharged and 3.2litre V6. Each has a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, but there is also the choice of a six-speed S Tronic direct shift gearbox, which performs like an automatic.
Constructed largely out of aluminium, this superb coupe is incredibly light and agile. And you won’t find many cars that are so much fun to drive. The TT is sharp and aggressive, holding the road with an iron grip. Push the engine through its paces and you’ll be delighted by the throaty snarl kicked out of the exhaust.
Perhaps surprisingly, the TT is a reasonably low cost car to run. Take the 2litre option for example – you should quite easily get 36.7 miles to the gallon. But don’t forget, it’s the desirability of this attractive Audi that’s sure to capture your attention. Lovingly designed both inside and out, the TT was made for pure driving pleasure.
