Ford Ka Review
The Car Shop Megastore offers a great selection of used Ford Kas, from the sprightly 3-door 1.3 hatchback to the lively 2-seater 1.6 Sportka convertible.
The baby of the Ford family offers a fun driving experience, the firm but well-damped ride providing nimble handling around town or on the open road. The lower, stiffer Sportka is even more responsive, the wider tyres giving a level of grip to rival much more expensive convertibles.
A used Ford Ka is cheap to run too. The old Ford Fiesta engines offers proven mechanical reliability, even if the fuel economy isn’t quite as impressive as some newer rivals, and insurance and servicing are easily affordable.
Inside, the front seats are well shaped and supportive and the controls and switches are simple and easy to use. The positive gearshift and pedal action are also worthy of mention. Rear accommodation is fair for a supermini and the 50/50 split rear seat gives the modest boot a little more flexibility.
A choice of seven models (including the Sportka) means there’s a used Ford Ka to suit most drivers. All versions offer power steering and a driver airbag, others include metallic paint, central locking, electric front windows, adjustable seat height, air-conditioning and even leather upholstery.
