Jaguar S-Type Review
A Jaguar S-Type offers an elegant alternative to the German models so familiar in the executive car park. You can choose from a 3.0 V6 petrol or a cleaner, more economical 2.7 diesel engine as standard. If you’re looking for extra power, the sporty R boasts a 4.2 V8 delivering 400bhp and 0-60mph in just 6.2 seconds.
While it won’t have the engineers at BMW losing sleep, a Jaguar S-Type is surprisingly nimble for its size, with little body roll and a comfortable ride. If you don’t mind sacrificing some of that smoothness, the optional CATS suspension pack makes the handling even sharper.
Slip behind the wheel and you’ll find it easy to find the perfect driving position, thanks to the electrically adjustable steering and driver’s seat. You can even get electrically adjustable pedals! The S-Type can seat four adults comfortably, but taller passengers may wish for more headroom in the back. The boot’s narrow opening and shallow design don’t lend themselves to big loads.
All used Jaguar S-Types from The Car Shop Megastore offer a wide range of refinements, with climate control, alloy wheels and electric front seats. Most models also feature leather upholstery and an automatic gearbox. Options include sat-nav, voice-activated controls, cruise control system and even a TV for rear passengers.
