CarShop Signs TV Star to Voice Radio Ads

Fresh off the back of winning the Used Car Supermarket of the Year Award, CarShop have announced that Toast of London star, Matt Berry, is voicing their 2016 radio campaign.

This is the latest announcement reaffirming the company’s position of best used car supermarket, awarded by Car Dealer Magazine. Over the past year CarShop has made significant changes to their operation to further-enhance the experience their customers receive including: new-look stores, technological advancements in-store and website enhancements.

In-line with consumer behaviour a shift in the way people consume media has occurred, placing a heavier emphasis on new digital media, and using traditional-style advertising in more of a targeted way. It’s because of this decision that CarShop felt they needed a really strong radio campaign; a campaign which not only communicated their messages, but did so in a way which listeners would relate to and find engaging through use of comedy.

Leo Nelson, Marketing Director for CarShop, commented:

“This is a really exciting time for us! The business has changed so much in the last few years and we felt that we needed something totally fresh for our radio. Matt is bang on-trend and has a very distinct voice, making him a perfect fit for what we’re trying to achieve.

“He really was a pleasure to work with and we’re all extremely pleased with the result of the ads. And we can’t wait to hear what the listeners think.”

The concept and scripts were developed as a collaborative effort between CarShop and Hallam FM, and will be played across key regional and digital radio stations including: Hallam FM, Heart, Classic FM and Spotify.
