News: CarShop celebrate World Baking Day

Here at CarShop, we love an excuse to have some fun and raise a bit of money for charity. Today marks World Baking Day – so we had a bake sale across all of our stores and raised some money for our charity partner Global’s Make Some Noise.

Colleagues were encouraged to get creative and bring in their best bakes ready to be sold to both customers and other Colleagues within the stores. With a prize being awarded for the best bake in each location, the competition was fierce. Colleagues brought in both sweet and savory bakes, including peanut butter cookies, bacon, and cheese turnovers, and even a Global’s Make Some Noise themed sponge cake!

Check out some of these amazing bakes below:

Kara’s Global’s Make Some Noise themed sponge cake was a hit, whilst others baked things such as rocky road and a vanilla baked cheesecake!

The spread at Doncaster was impressive, with someone even making a pug cake! However, Charlotte Bailey won star baker for her cheesecake which was so good it sold out in minutes!

Colleagues in Cardiff displayed their efforts beautifully!

Natalia in Northampton made an absolutely stunning cheesecake, whilst the service centre Colleagues brought in both sweet and savory treats.
This year we hope to raise £100,000 for charity, after having smashed this target last year we are confident that this will be achieved. The bake sale is just one of the ways in which CarShop Colleagues get involved in raising money, with other initiatives such as Tough Mudder and the London Marathon also bringing in many donations.
Now for the main event! The totals raised for each location are as follows
Northampton: £350.49
Swindon: £155
Doncaster: £122.03
Cardiff: £77.60
So the overall total raised was a whopping £705.12 - Amazing!
Finally, we just want to say thank you to everyone for getting involved and raising some money for the very worthy causes supported by Global’s Make Some Noise. We’re looking forward to the next one already!
