So the kids have all moved out, there’s no real need for that people carrier anymore (not until the grandkids start staying over), so why not splash the cash and trade it in for something a little more attention-grabbing? You’ll notice how exciting it is to buy a car when you’re buying for you and no one else. Where practicalities are no longer an issue, here’s a small selection of some of the cars available for you to treat yourself to…
Here are a few examples to choose from when you’re not buying a car to be practical.
A classic in its own right, the Audi TT is now in its 3rd generation, with the latest model coming packed with hi-tech features, like what Audi calls the “Virtual Cockpit,” putting all your infotainment right in front of you and at your fingertips. Both the petrol and diesel engines are pretty quick, with the petrol boasting 230 bhp and a 0-60 time of 6 seconds.

For many, the Porsche 911 is nothing but a pipe-dream. However, the Cayman just so happens to be a more affordable way of getting into a Porsche. Although not as powerful as the 911, you still get 265 bhp under the bonnet and can get to 60 in just 6 seconds, which is still pretty impressive and guarantees smiles for miles.

If you’re wanting some luxurious but still fun, look no further than the Jaguar F-Type. This successor to the renowned XK has a supercharged V6 with 340 bhp to boot and can do 0-60 in just 5 seconds. They come well-kitted out too, with SatNav as standard.

Last but not least, the MX-5 has been around for 25 years,, spanning 4 generations and several special editions and facelifts. They pack a lot of kit given the size of the car, including SatNav, cruise control and heated leather seats in higher-spec models.
