Awards: CarShop takes home social media strategy award at 2018 AM Awards

Birmingham’s ICC recently celebrated the Motor Trade’s finest, recognising success of industry leaders at the annual AM Awards (Automotive Management Awards). Hosted by Steph McGovern, the evening was full of spirit and cheer, and saw the 2018 winners inducted into the AM Hall of Fame.

CarShop attended after being nominated in the “Best Social Media Strategy” category, alongside Marshall’s Motor Group, Bells Crossgar and David Dexters; all of whom have seen social media success throughout the last twelve months. After Marshall’s Motor Group and Bells Crossgar were recognised as being “highly commended”, the shortlist for the winner came down to two. McGovern then announced CarShop as the winner, commending the retailer for their colleague and customer-driven social strategy.

Upon receipt of the award CarShop Communications & Content Manager, Ben Scholes, commented:

“What a win! Myself and a passionate in-house team of dedicated people have worked incredibly hard to drive CarShop’s strategy, and it’s great to see that the industry has placed us in pole position. Social media has been integrated into the business at all levels, utilising it to communicate internally, recruit and speak to our loyal followers.

“We have an extremely exciting digital development strategy as part of our mission to lead the evolution of the automotive marketplace, and we’re determined to keep delighting our customers throughout every step of the journey. Social Media is a touchpoint which is becoming increasingly important, and we’re always seeking to innovate within our sector.”

CarShop weren’t the only members of the Sytner Group to be recognised for their contributions to automotive retail, Sytner themselves took home awards for ‘Best Training and Development Programme’ (highly commended), ‘Best Retail Group (more than 10 sites)’, ‘Retailer of the Year’ and ‘Business Leader of the Year’ (Darren Edwards).
